Hedychium gardnerianum XXL
XXL means that this a very large rhizome at point of sale. Known as “ginger lily” or “ornamental ginger”. In ideal growing conditions this variety can grow up to a height of about 140cm/56″. Be aware that even tough the roots will cope with some frost, in most parts of the UK it is best to protect the plant through the winter. Either by bringing the planter in or at least mulching when in the open ground.
