Allium ‘Ambassador’ is another example of a tall ornamental onion. Known for its impressive stature, and its large spherical, deep purple blooms. As with all alliums the green leaves begin to die back as the flower appears. It is known for this and its therefore best planted among other plants that will mask the leaves dying back. The. bloom produces an attractive seed head once it is finished flowering. Still an impressive feature in your garden or large flower pots. An allium, once established in its preferred well-drained location it proofs to be drought tolerant. However if grown in pots and planters it will need more frequent watering! All in all, allium ‘Ambassador’ is  a low maintenance bulb to add to your collection.
