“Four o’clock flower” is another name. Scented flowers opening at four in the afternoon, telling you it is time for a glass… In the UK it would be classed as a half-hardy perennial. It very cold and wet locations it is advisable to over winter the bulbs under cover, sheltered from the wet and frost. It is actually grown in the Himalayas but gets its protection there from a good bed of snow. Easy to grow and does self-seed.
