Product Description

Eucomis vandermerwei ‘Octopus’

This amazing  eucomis or ‘pine apple lily’ with beautiful brown speckled strap-like leaves and rustic red flowers, only grows 15-20cm/6-8″ tall. This stunning dwarf variety is one on its own! The bulbs are not large but it reproduces very well. Expect a nice clump in a few years time. Due it being sparsely available it is quite a pricy bulb!

Care Information

  • Plant when danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed.
  • Alternatively start them off in a greenhouse.
  • Good in borders, pots or containers.
  • Make sure soil is well drained, planting 2- 3 times the depth of the bulb.
  • Water well after planting and keep moist.
  • Let the foliage die back naturally, to put the goodness back in the bulb.
  • In the right conditions these bulbs will naturalise.
  • Hardy in all but extreme conditions.
  • Eucomis will flower better once the roots have established.
