The combination of orange and red in the flower of this bearded Iris gives you a coppery feel and really brightens up your border or pots and planters.

Care Information

  • Iris can be grown in borders, pots or containers.
  • Can be planted straight into the open ground or started off in a pots or planters.
  • Plant in well drained soil with the bulb/rhizome showing on the surface as it needs to be baked in the sun…. As Monty says, ‘Sun in, flower out’!
  • Avoid waterlogged conditions
  • Plant in a sunny location but can tolerate a little shade (mornings).
  • Iris do not like to be crowded by other plant species.
  • Cut foliage back once it is turning yellow.
  • You can divide your Iris after they have established themselves (usually 3-5 years) and have formed a good clump.
  • Fully hardy but if a long hard frost is forecast a mulch is advised.
