Product Description

Cardiocrinum Giganteum

Also known as Himalayan lily. It has been known to grow 3.5m tall in a place where it feels at home but generally 2m is its full height. It has beautiful trumpet shaped flowers and a nice vanilla scent. It does take a few years to become established and grow a flower, so patience is definitely a virtue!

Care Information

  • Plant when danger of frost has passed and soil has warmed.
  • Alternatively start them off in a greenhouse.
  • Can be planted in the ground or in pots or containers.
  • Plant in well drained soil with the tip of the bulb showing.
  • Need a sunny or part shade location.
  • Let the foliage die back naturally, to put the goodness back in the bulb.
  • Cardiocrinum is a hardy bulb and can cope with severe frost but it does benefit from mulching in the winter.
